Hello folks, I have reported earlier how pathetic Customer services in India Is, Here’s what happened today…
Below is a letter sent to Nodal officer of Airtel Miss Prema Pai.
Hi Miss Prema Pai,

Here’s the reason I called Customer services :Â Your company runs adverts saying we have the freedom to start and stop the services as an when you want which is completely False.
You activated Hello Tune without me requesting for the same.
You also started a service called Cricket Blog and deducted 10 Rs From my account , I do not know what this services is all about and I never requested for it.
I called the customer services team at 121 at around 9.45 for the first time and while I was in a Queue waiting to speak to a customer service rep, The call disconnected from your end within 10 seconds and I was charged .50 Paisa for the call. ( You can check the disconnection Report For the Mobile number mentioned above) I did not disconnect the call neither was I moving around, I was stationary so the signal was not lost either.
So called again immediately and this time was lucky to get trough to a Customer Services Rep, His Name was YOGESH.
He did take my request for canceling the Hello TUNE and informed I was not charged for the Lame Song Thank god!!!.
Now to the second issue, Cricket Blog he informed I subscribed for the Services at 9.01 16/3/2011, Can you prove it as I did not even touch my phone at that time, If you cannot prove it I would Apply for a report under the RTI act, and drag you to court on behalf of millions of customer you fool every day.
I asked him to transfer the call to the Manager and while I was explaining about the call disconnections while getting transferred to the Customer services he disconnected the call again….!!!! WOW What a way to Treat a Customer… I know you have a Disconnection Report generated for all calls Please refer to It and prove me wrong.
Tried calling the Customer services team for the 3rd Time however the call disconnected while in QUEUE.
Finally tired and exhausted I went online to Report the pathetic services you give to your customer.
Here’s a Hypothetical Figure..
Every time I try to call Customer services you charge .50 paise which is fine.
However The call keeps getting disconnected,
You have 152,495,219 Customers in India in 2010 according you.
Say if 2% of this customers call the customer services everyday, That Counts to 3049904 Customer calling every day.
I know ever customer has to call you 2 times at least, However for the sake of calculation I would Count 10% of calls getting disconnected from your End.
i.e.. 34990 Calls disconnected everyday.34990 * .50 ( Cost per call ) = 17495Rs of Net income every Day To you and loss to customers.
You are running an organization that Loots people .
Kindly Revert with your reply in 7 working days or I would be constrained to approach Consumer court for the Complaint about the same

Well once i was also activated with the airtel hello tun i called up the customer care they said note down your complain number and this that well revert back to in within 48 hours . Hmm and 48 hours meant 48 hourse they fortunately called me and said there might have been some proble ur charges will be refunded back in another 48 others . Crap man waste 4 days of a customer for a service he dint even as for
Amit seriously i agree with you, these days companies insist the customer so very much, whats the final result customer is left unhappy. I use tata CDMA connection, I once got a call from the company, as soon as i picked up my phone i lost 30 bucks without knowing what had happened. Later I received a SMS saying “you can now put caller tunes for free as you have successfully registered for it”. I thought no harm in trying, the company is promising a free caller tune service so lets try it. As soon as I putted it i checked my balance i noticed i again lost 10 bucks”. I was so angry i registered to DO NOT DISTURB soon. My dad posted a complaint but as usual the company was careless and did not felt important to reply back.
Now thats what I call holding by the balls, lets start waking the others from their sleep. Idea is next in the pipeline and so is Aircel.

I faced the same situation in loop. Those idiots activated my hello tune on their own and they started charging me rs.1 daily and when i complained for it, as usual they gave me a docket no. and assured me that it will be deactivated within 72hrs and i will get my refund and guess what nothing happened. One more surprise can u imagine when finally they deactivated my caller tune now some days back after 3 and a half month. Within this 3 and a half month I might have called them more than 30-40times (thankfully they did not charge me for customer service no.)and even visited their center 4-5times.
And till now i haven’t received my refund. I am so fucking annoyed on them that i seriously feel like suing them and switch to some other service but then all are sailing in the same boat where to go…..

i m using airtel for the last 3 years, all my family member using this service but for the last 1year i m facing problems. they charge for the service which i did not request to activate. Most of the time i cal to customer care i did not get proper response. i request you to please improve the service.

Good job Amit! I too have been facing similar issues with Airtel. These guys suck at their services. Have been writing to the nodal officers for quite some time. They never credit my account for free, so why on earth should i take it lightly when my account got deducted of Rs. 300 on it’s own. Was an eye opener to see you had the courage to come up in public with your woes.

Hi Amit, This is just just a snapshot of the problems I am facing over a period of time and again last week. From my account for 2 -3 days around 110, 100 and 20+ were getting deducted. I have my 3G plan activated with enough data credit. Now I tried calling them since 21st Dec. Frequently the calls getting disconnected. Once I catch hold of a CC executive, they tried to offer me Rs.60 credit to close the issue. I said, I lost around 240+, so I said, I want the details and all credit back. It seems Rs.60 is the level 1 limit. Then came the supervisor, who said he will credit Rs.100
. When I asked for Rs.240, the answer I got was thats their limit. Then they agreed to accept the compliant. After that I was supposed to get the issue resolved by 23rd Dec 1.30 PM. But no call. Since Friday night I tried to call the customer care. But every time I call, 198, 5, 5, it lands up with automatic message indicating call *121…. to get the balance. I tried yesterday also. More than 5 calls. Same message. Today, Sunday same case. Finally I tried from another Airtel Mobile. Now on first call I was able to reach a customer care executive
. Again they ask same details. Every one gives a new reason such as, you selected for Special 5 – 3 numbers / Its due to data usage / Mobile office used etc. whereas I never subscribed for Mobile office or never used. Also, for 3 of Special 5 numbers, it won’t deduct Rs ~240 in 2-3 days. What a joke. After the scheduled deadline, they blocked my phone from reaching the customer care executive. This is pathetic. Others please be careful and also respond any such case happening.
They didn’t answered:
1. When Mobile office – which I didn’t even know how it is used in Airtel – when not subscribed, how its getting charged to around 240 in 2-3 days.
2. When 3G data credit is available, why Voice balance gets deducted
3. Why every customer care executive gives different answers.
4. One Supervisor agreed that its due to software/system glitch many people face the problem and it will be rectified. But again they say the amount is deducted due to net usage.
But the data balance is still available
5. The customer care executives, after talking long along with Complaint number, gives the status as complaint closed, again asks, whats the complaint number, when you raised etc., which is painful.
6. Again they say, I will raise a new complaint. But that starts the clock again – beware. No reason, what happned to old complaint and why its closed when the issue still stays after 4 days and you were never communicated on this.
Apart from me, I hear same from other users on monthly plan getting charged (post paid), when they didn’t even opt for Mobile Cricket alert etc., and in Prepaid for Daily MMS charge – whereas the phone doesn’t even have that capability
Dear Airtel users, beware of this service.
But I never had issue with their Landline and Broadband services – which is just perfect.

What I also wanted from other fellow users is, Whether they have the practice of blocking a number for any reason, from reaching a customer care executive?
After I mentioned about this specific issue, the same started in another number from which I am able to reach them on first go

Today I reached out to the Nodal officer and again one more complaint is raised.
. What a big joke. When I asked to re-open the old complaint, the answer I got is – they can’t reopen a closed issue. Which is so convenient to create a new issue every time and to add to their number of issues handled. But as a customer, I need to spend my time again and again to repeat the same details to all of them and just add to the complaint number.
I asked about why for the same issue, 3 complaints are raised till now and why the earlier ones were closed without fixing the issue. The answer is Sorry
The nodal officer they published in their website – when you tried to reach out, is not the experienced person as you would expect. But instead an assistant who is similar to the customer care executive.
Let me see how its getting taken forward from here …..
Today also no update or no one reached out over the resolution and credit back for the reported issue.
Since 21st its 6 days over, no update from Airtel end. Even after reporting to Nodal Office
I am having a problem with airtel broadband. I requested for connection..they never gave me connection on grounds of non accessability. I requested refund of the money they collected for issuing connection..its been seven months since i registered a complaint..no responce yet. They play blame game. Airtel is just a piece of shit !!!

hello nodal officer my cell no is 9967808795 i have wrote this letter coz i m fade up with ur service.always any of the scheme from ur end ur people activated this time ur people have activated me subswap_weekly subcription without my knowledge from february i have call ur call centre and they told at that time they will return me the money back but they havent done this and my weekly subscription has havent deactivated till now. and till now my 100 rupees has deducted.u can seee my profile on my no i have put on do not disturb than also every 3 months airtel directly activated some of the another.i wanted my 100 rupees back within 2 hours otherwise this time i directlt write to trai service plz be corprate with me. i m waiting for ur message.
I have just contacting with customer care mr.Rahul for my dad no and asking abt call rate cutter recharge offer ,so what he asking me sec check that time i know i was rudely because after 3 call disconnecting i got responce and if i loss that time no more chance to call to cust care but he responcing me that he block my incoming and outgoing of no 9503507096 and that condition i am not able to contact with any one how can mr. Rahul was able to block my service without my permissi its bad service of Tech mahindra i am not satisfied this is my no from last 5 year.

I have got frustated from your airtel services. No remedial solution is given to my problem. I have 4 airtel numbers and now your airtel services are forcing me to change my network. Your customer Services person are so rude. I would always recommend everyone not to use Airtel network as it is the most worst and irresponsible network.

I am facing lot of problems with Airtel-prepaid service.
Problems:-
1) Deducted 50 Rs for Java Game download-Even no downloaded any games.
2) Deducted 80 Rs for subscribing for AirtelTV.
3) Deducted 5 Rs for some kind of service etc.
On my mobile phone every time popup gets populated like “Try High rated games and mobile apps”.
Even though I was not intended to go for it money got deducted.
Whenever I contacted Airtel customer care executive, the response was unsatisfactory. I am completely frustrated the kind of service Airtel is providing.
