Google has yet another mind-blowing prospected release going by the name of Google’s Project Glass. A few technology geeks say that some of the prospected capabilities of the “Google Glasses” are overrated but no one can doubt Google’s might in technology. Just like the way Google hit the market with its Android OS that has given Smartphones a new face altogether, Project Glass is also bound to make it big in the market. With Google already demonstrating how Project Glass will be working, it is evident that in two years time there will be more fantasy in the world of cloud computing.
Why Google Glasses?
According to Google, Google Glasses are designed to overcome the limitations associated with Google Goggles. As opposed to Google Goggles which is a type of application software, the Google glasses will be more of hardware than mere software. These glasses are designed into slim wearable gadgets with an internal power cell fitted within the frame. According to the designers of these glasses, there will be specific designs that conform to the design of the usual spectacles and therefore, one will not need to bear the bulk of two pairs glasses on around his eyes.
Some Features of Google Glasses as Depicted by Project Glass Demonstration
Even though the project is not yet launched officially, its short video show was definitely off the hook and unimaginable. The design resembles simple glass frame that has a lens slightly above the eye. The whole system is customized to use voice and gesture commands which makes it quite interesting. The screen acts as a platform through which one can make video calls, send messages and receive texts. In addition, the glasses are run on Android OS and are customized to use Google maps. This makes it possible to locate places on your pair of glasses quite easily.
A visit to big shopping malls will also be made easy. Through the Google Glasses system, you simply use voice command to get to the desired section. Many are prospecting that the glasses will outrage the ongoing hand-glove technology that is at its developmental stages and is aimed at facilitating easy location of products from large shopping malls.
Better still, Google Glass will have the capacity to take snapshots using voice commands and the user can share them with various people who are on the internet.
While a great majority can’t wait to see the official launch of the project, some people feel that this is a trick that Google is trying to use to put adverts to clients. By the fact that screen interfaces used to access the internet are being transformed into a lens-sized screen that one will always be carrying around close to his or her eyes, one will never evade the disgusting popup adverts which keep popping on the screens. However, Google only initiated the project and it’s looking forward to other investors who may find this technology worthy to them. For instance, Google demonstrated how this technology can be used in sky diving, locating places around cities and chatting with friends.
